IMG_4452_EDIT_CROPHello Steepers,

Well, another month has flown by and our amazing TEAm has been hard at work. We’re very excited to update you on all the things happening at House of Steep. We continue to serve up amazing tea, soaks, and therapies infused with love; but we’re also striving to make other improvements every day. Below are a few of the highlights. Please come visit us soon to experience what’s new for yourself!

One of the first things you’ll notice is the new display refrigerator. This not only increased our capacity for additional food choices, but also streamlined food delivery. The current location is temporary; look for it to re-locate to a more permanent home soon. We heard and appreciate the feedback on to-go food containers and are exploring more environmentally friendly packaging options currently.

Talking food, we’ve been testing a non-dairy version of our classic lavender tea cookies, but don’t worry we would never get rid of everyone’s favorite recipe! Meanwhile, we are beginning to settle into some regular offerings from our third-party vendors. The wraps from DC Vegan are very popular; as well as many of the sweeter options from Vegan Treats. If you haven’t tried our increased plant-based food yet; we are offering free food samples regularly until we settle on the new menu. Please remember that any of these items can be heated up at your request (may we suggest the chocolate covered donuts?). Other exciting food partnerships will be announced soon.

Another top priority has been to improve the sanctuary experience. Several steps have been taken already including expanded therapist hours. We are lucky to now have increased availability with Vital including time for walk-ins on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. Very soon we will be offering walk-in therapist availability through-out the week. Of equal importance, we are aware of the challenges with the online booking system and are actively working to improve the soak and therapy booking process to eliminate the confusion and multiple emails.

Spring is coming fast and with it we are announcing a new Health and Wellness Series. Beginning in March we will be holding regular events with nutritionists, therapists, and other health and wellness experts. Watch the Events Calendar for upcoming events that interest you.

Last month, a small group of friends organized a book club to read and discuss the book Hillbilly Elegy; hopefully the first of many such meetings. This was my first book club experience and I found it very engaging. We will share the date and book for our next discussion ASAP and will be encouraging anyone interested to join us. There were lots of other fun events held at Steep last month including birthdays, baby showers, and even corporate events. We love when people enjoy our space for special moments and hope to see more events like these at Steep soon. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at events@houseofsteeep.com if you have ideas or simply need a space for your next private event.

Finally, we announced a new partnership with DC Capital Striders (www.dccapitalstriders.com) running club last month. We are happy to work with this great charity and are now offering members a discount on tea and soaks. We are planning a weekly run from Steep in partnership with DCCS beginning in May. Look for more information soon. We are also proud sponsors of the Girls on the Run NOVA (www.gotrnova.org) 2017 Lunafest Film Festival on March 30. Check out calendar for details on this and other upcoming events.

As always, we happily encourage all feedback and thoughts as we build the future of Steep together.

Happy Steeping!

Patrick and the TEAm
